What belongs on the note sheet?
Write a short description of the move: purchasing a first home, replacing a current home, or exploring a later possibility. Separate your preferred timing from any date already fixed by a lease or contract. Mark anything uncertain as uncertain rather than guessing.
- Your goal and preferred area in Texas
- Whether a property is selected or you are still exploring
- Dates you know and dates you hope for
- Questions you want answered before deciding on a next step
Which questions should come first?
The CFPB recommends exploring mortgage choices and gathering paperwork before choosing a home. Start by asking which steps apply to your situation and who handles each one. Ask what information is needed for a general discussion and what belongs in a formal application instead.
A good question list is specific: “What would you need to assess this?” is more useful than assuming a particular program will fit. A first conversation does not establish approval or a commitment to lend.
How should you record the answers?
Use a small action log with an item, an owner and a follow-up date. Keep a separate column for questions that remain open. If someone explains a document requirement, record the document name and the approved delivery method; do not copy account numbers into the log.
Before ending the conversation, read back the next action. That simple check can reveal whether you are waiting for a request or the loan officer is waiting for your response.
Where should documents go?
This website is for contact and education, not a mortgage application. Use the Book a Call form for a short message and contact details. Ask Kimberli Kline, Loan Officer at All Western Mortgage, for the verified application or document-delivery route before sending financial records.
